Adding a file server to NDS

I have been asked to add a server to an exsisting tree. Our clients hard drive is filling up and they would like to move one or two applications only to this new server. I know very little Novell that's why I need help please. They will not be authenticating to this server and I will not move their home directories or anything of that nature. I only want them to access these apps and to also back them up every night. The backup is running from the first and only server and is running Arcserv 2000. HP surestore 6 tape cartridge. Any help would be much appreciated.

When you say that they won't be authenticating to this server, but just running these 2 apps, what exactly do you mean. Are they client/server database apps? If they aren't C/S DB apps, then they most likely WILL need authentication.

They should be able to purchase a NetWare server agent for the ArcServe backup to solve that piece.

Let me know more about the apps and we can probably help more.

Thanks for your response. What I meant by authenticating to to the server is I did not think I would need to put NDS on it. Like AD in Windows world you would authen. to AD and run apps from a diff server. Authentication taking place in AD on one server not all. The one app I know I will be moving is called Summation. It is a database for lawyers.
Basics I believe, like calanders and appointments and to-do list and like. Also I am not real familiar with the way Arcserv will work, is there a client piece that you could add to the directory that is on another server/workstation or do I need to buy this piece to place on the server so that Arc serv will see it.
