Recently I tried to add a new 206e r4.1 card to our existing phone system.

We currently have 2 back planes configured as such:

Back plane 1-
Slot 1 - 206EC r3.1
Slot 2 - 206EC r4.1
Slot 3 - Processor Module r4.0.1
Slot 4 - 206EC r3.1
Slot 5 - 206EC r3.1

Back plane 2-
Slot 1 - 400EC r3.1
Slot 2 - Partner Mail VS R1
Slot 3 - Expansion Processor r3.1
Slot 4 - 206EC r4.1
Slot 5 - Empty

I tried installing the 206e r4.1 in the last empty slot on back plane 2 but when I brought the system back up the Partner mail card went to down satus.

I read that all 206 cards should be installed to the far left of any 400 cards but currently it is not installed that way and is functioning normally.

Even so I reconfigured Back Plane 2 so that the Mail VS card was in slot 5 and put the 400EC in slot 4, the existing 206EC in slot 1 and the new card in Slot 2 and still cannot get it to work.

I only get power on the last ext jack on the new card. The rest of them I get nothing and none of them have dial tone.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Sean

sounds like a bad 206 , I would try it in slot one with only the processor . and see what happens .

Skip,

I pulled the other cards and tried it in slot 1 with only the Proc and got the same result.

No dial tone on any of the ports and only the last port will power a phone.

Do you think I should RMA the card and get an exchange and try again?

Thanks,
Sean
