We have a T1 card on a Meridan system configured to support 12 trunks.

There are more trunks availiable on the T1 circuit - how do I enable additional trunks within the meridian system.

in ld 20 prt the tnb of the last trunk.. note the cls marks as well as type. ncos des targ and rtmb (route and member)
then go to 14,

new 12
type xxx (match the type)

everything else is the same except, if the last in service trunk was 1 12, the nxt one will be 1 13.. (same route next member)

then go to 60 and do a stat, IF the trunks are softwared on the far end, they will be in service.. if not you will see the new trunks (fexxx) far end maint busy or another far end ststus code.. even if they are not in service on the far end, you will not disable service at your site.. the switch will not give you a down trunk when you dial 9..

Thx John,

Is there a command I can use yo determine if the Meridian is looking to the t1 for its clock (ie is it master or slave)

Im interconnecting the meridian with a shoretel system - the shoretel "looks" like the carrier to the meridian and I would have throught that therefore it should supply the clock to the meridian. However when I do that I get periodic yellow alarms from the meridian. If I set Shoretel to me the clocking slave it runs clean.

I guess if it works who cares what the sttings are but it would be nice to be sure....

Given where you are from do you know David Hasty?

i don't remember the name.. ld 60 ssck 0 will show you the clocks pri and sec source.. ld 73 prt ddb will allow you to see or change those.. in 60 trk pck forces the clock to trc on the primary.. if you disu the primary and your sec is freerun, after you get the pri back up, unless you force the clock back to the pri, your t's will start slipping (r,d), when the lcnt reaches thrs, (ld 73 parm) the t will drop.. it can be one are 10, just make sure that your clocking off of a reliable source if you want your t's to be dependable
