A friend of mine says I never installed a program on his computer but I'm pretty sure I did and he removed it and just doesn't remember. Is there any type of log in XP the could prove who's right???

Possibly something in the registry. Or maybe shreds left in programs, usually the folder.

You are right,Ed! I have the same program on my computer and I found it in the registry and I remember that the empty folder does remain after uninstalling. Thanks much! :eek:)
