My Nt workstation is register in the domain. I often need to reinstall NT. When I reinstall I need to go to the network administrator and ask him to delete my name from the domain and create it again. I have try making a ghost to my harddrive. When I reinstall my ghost I still needed to go to the network administrator and ask him to rejoin my computer name. How come the ghost is not good.. I mean ghost just copy the harddrive sector by sector.
Is there any option I can Rejoin my computer to the domain (with the same name offcourse) without bothering the network administrator??

thanks in advance.

Is the ghost image an exact image of your machine after it was assigned a computer name or is it a generic image used to set machines up on your network? If the computer name is not the same as your current computer name you will need to re add the machine to your domain everytime you re-ghost it. In order to do that you need to be granted rights from your system admin to add machines to the domain.

Ask him/her for enough rights to "Add a computer to the domain". This is an advanced user right that he can give you without making you a full domain admin. Then you can just add your workstation back in whenever you need to.

Hope this helps... :) Bill

The ghost is an excat image of my harddrive after it is already register in the domain.
