add new ide hardisk to novell 3.12

After installing the drive, you need to load the IDE driver in the STARTUP.NCF file. Proceed with formatting and partitioning as usual.

I am trying to install Netware 3.12 on a 1.5GB ide disk. I've got to the LOAD IDE stage, and have managed to find interrupt/resource settings which work. I "LOAD INSTALL" and create a 1.5GB Netware partition (which takes quite a while). I then try to create a SYS volume. This takes about 15 mins (with the HDD led flashing briefly every 10-15 secs), but the SYS volume does not appear in the volume list. I've tried smaller & smaller volumes, but Netware won't create it. Any help mucho appreciated.
