Hello,

I'm trying to add a new music source to my Definity System. Using CM2. I'm using a regular iPod and the converter/filter/thingy (KS-23395L4) from avaya.

The iPod is connected to the converter (non-reg source) with a 3.5mm mono plug <-> rj11 (middle pair used) cable. The converter is the connected to a analog port (02C0106 in my case).

I then added a new music source with 'change music-sources' and added:
2: music 02C0106 Music

I then added a new tenant group to use this music source with 'change tenant 2' and entered:
Tenant Description: Resurs Holding Music

Attendant Group: 1

Ext Alert Port (TAAS):

Night Destination:

Music Source: 2

Attendant Vectoring VDN: 2995

Then i add a new VDN to use this tenant group with 'add vdn 4051' and entered:
Extension: 4051
Name: Music :)
Vector Number: 599
Attendant Vectoring? n
Meet-me Conferencing? n

And my problem is of course that I can't hear any music when I call 4051, just silence.

I've probable missed something.

Thanks

If you have more than one MOH source, as it sounds like you do, have you tried the new source on the old sources location to prove that works?

This is my first music source. Source# 1 is type "tone".

Have you checked the output volume of the ipod?

- Duaneness

Yepp, it's at maximum volume.

I'm starting to suspect the cables/adapter but I wanted my configuration checked before I got a new one.

Well then my next question is do you use Tennant Services? In the VDN you have the Tennant as 2

I have a extension (announcement) for Music on Hold connected something like yours. First the announcement is configured as below:

8 XXXXX aux-trk-m 7 1 Music_On_Hold b 01D1402
The XXXXX is the extension number assigned to the announcement.

Now I connected the what you call the thingy to a AUX trunk card 01D1402. Now in my vectors the statements are wait 120 sec hearing XXXXX.

Now my regular music is connected to AUX port 01D1401 for the general users. Music source XXXXX on AUX port 01D1402 are for the users of the call center. Works well.

Hope this helps

1a22ip:

Thanks. Since i use a regular card for analog stations i tried type analog and analog-fg (which gave me busy when dailing the announcement extension) and analog-m (witch was all silent).

I've never done this before and it feels like I'm throwing darts in the dark here.

appreciate all the help, thanks.

I believe you'll find the iPod has such low driven audio that it will take a small amp to boost it to the level a "normal" source would have. The coupler will likewise remove volume, only slightly, but noticeably. If the iPod was turned up so loud as to finally reach a drivable level, it would be so distorted it wouldn't be viable any longer. Put a little PagePal 6 or similar between it and the coupler, turn the ipod up to no more than ~25% volume and adjust the final level with the amp controls.

I don't have any gateways on site. On site I have S8700 and cabinets.

Yes, but I can't hear anything at all (using a regular computer now by the way).

I never heard of a Audio source using a analog card. I only know of Aux Trunk cards for audio sources.

Sorry

At one of my sites we are using an analog port for an audio source. On page 1 of system-parameters features, there is a section to add the port location for the music source. Do you have the port location added in there?

looking further, the above is only for systems with Tenant Partitioning disabled.

sixty4:

I have tenant partitioning enabled.
