Hi all, i need to add some contacts to my phones ( 9608,9611,9641,9670) connected to Avaya Midsize entreprise Solu 6.2, When I press the contact button on the phone i find no contact, please I have about 300 phones I can't add contacts one by one.

Thanks & Regards.

A couple of options..
- Use the USB Companion Tool ( 3.2.x) to store the contacts on a USB stick which can then be plugged into the USB port on the 9611G/9641G/9670G.
- Assuming you are properly backing up the information on the phones to an HTTP server, then create the contacts on one phone and have a look at the yyyy_96xxdata.txt file (where yyyy is the phone number) which is created on the HTTP server, manually copy the contact info into separate yyyy_96xxdata.txt files for each other phone number.

Hi gwebster,
I was looking for any documentation about accessing to these yyyy_96xxdata.txt but no way, can you provide me a link .

Thanks and Regards.

Mohamed.

Assuming you have BRURI configured, the phone creates a backup file called yyyy_96xxdata.txt (where yyyy is the extension number) on the http server. Look in the Admin Guide under "Administering backup and restore" for the list of information in that file and the format. Every extension creates their own file which they periodically backup and also read when rebooted. If you manually edit the file (to add in the contacts), upload it to the HTTP server, and then reboot the associated phone it will read in the modified data.
