ADD a table that is not there???

Hi All,
How do I add a table when I can't even see it listed? It is definitely there in the application database I'm pulling from, but it doesn't appear in the list of tables for me to add when I create/modify a report. I've tried the "Set Database Location" but that table is just not there! I'm not sure if this is an issue I need to take up with the vendor of the program, but I was hoping the geniuses on this website can help me.

Does the user account you are using with Crystal have rights to that table? ( Not the rights to the Windows stuff but to the database itself)

forgive me if this question sounds stupid, but "how can I determine if I have rights to this table"? and if I find out that I don't have rights to this particular table, how do I go about getting it? I'm one of three users licensed to use the Crystal application and have permissions to pull data from the app db ... do you suppose one of the other users created a table and failed to mention it?

Hey - the thing to do would be to log in to the SQL Server and check the table's permissions via Sql Server Management Studio/Enterprise Manager. Depending on your situation, you may have to ask your DBA (or whoever is in charge of the database) to check it for you. They may have to add you as having 'Select' access on the table.

Just as an addendum to my message - it could be that someone created the table and failed to mention it, but it sounds like a permissions issue - but if you're logged in as an Admin you should be able to see everything in your db...

hi all,

FYI... turns out it has nothing to do with permissions or adding a table... the applicaiton vendor informed me that the reason I can't see the table in question is because it's a 'pseudo' table of another table. I'll need to reference the actual table/fields to pull into my report.
