add a softphone for ip office 500 v2

I am trying to find the best solution for adding a softphone for ip office. i have the power user license and was told i need to install the one-x portal software on the vmpro server, is this really the case. any information would be greatly appreciated

you dont need the one-X unless you want to do telecommuter mode. If you want a soft phone then download the softphone.

It is behind the logon but if you can get there it is called
Avaya IP Office Video Softphone

i have that, and that should talk to the ipo directly then, correct? Also, since the ipo is on the customers and im not sure if they have a vpn connection on the laptop, would ports need to be forwarded for it to operate correctly

Will not work remotely without a VPN, even with port forwarding as NAT will kill it
