Hello,

I would like to know, how could i add a registry key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE when a user is logging?

Important: Users aren't local machine administrators.

then... Is this posible?...

Note: I use vbscript and the logon script files are in a group policy.

Thanks,

Sergio S. T.

If they are restricted users then you might have a problem as i don't think they can write to that area. Any chance a station startup script might run under the system accont?

Hello bofhrevenge2,

Yes they are restricted users... and it's imposible to give to the users this permission (administrator...)

could i do it in a computer startup script? before user login... this is not my favourite solution but could be one...

thanks

I'm not sure i'm afraid it could be worth testing it along with silent regedit.

Regedit /s %Logonserver%\NETLOGON

Ok,

anywhere i will test it.

Curiosly before we have a script in Kix32 script language, and all user had assigned an script in Users Properties (Profile -> Logon script) and then they can modify HKLM...

Thanks very much bofhrevenge2

With kix they can alter HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE or HKEY_CURRENT_USER?

I think HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE is Admins full control, system full control and everyone read, but i'm not certain.

Kix can alter both, HKLM and HCU is stranger but can do it.

i will try to do it with computers start up script, but also i'm not sure.

Thanks for all, if i do it, i will say here to you.
