I have a five column report. I to label the rows down the left side. When I do it access puts the label in every column. I need one label and five colums of rows.
The only way you can achieve what you want is to use an unbound text box, (instead of a label), on the left of the data column with the ControlSource property as ="Label caption". Then select the Hide duplicates property.
However, using group or page header is a better option for column headers.
Although it looks like ineuw has already helped solve your problem, I wanted to mention one thing for future Report/Access issues you may have.
Tek-Tips has a seperate [blue]Microsoft: Access Reports[/blue] forum ([blue]Forum703[/blue]) that would have been a better place to post this particular question.
One of the cool things about Tek-Tips is you can post a question and get several workable solutions. Then you can choose the fix that best suits your experience, skills, or what you're simply most comfortable with. I actually participate in five different Access forums (Forms, Queries, Reports, Tables/Relationships, and Other). Posting to the right forum increases the odds of receiving multiple solutions.
Good luck!
Tim
