We moved our PRI and the company told us to do a 911 test call to 933#. We use 8 to dial out so I'd dial 8933#. I tried calling 8933# but it busy-signals after dialing 89.
Is this something I can add to our CS1000 PBX?
Thanks
Maybe so, however, if you dial 933 in a Nortel PBX and 933 isn't built in BARS the call will absolutely go no where. That was my point. If you are installing or making changes to a PBX you better make damn sure you do in fact test 911 calls. 911 center's do not mind you testing the service as long as you stay on the line and in fact tell them you are testing.
Agree with KCFLHRC. You want a a real test of 911.
If you're troubleshooting and want to test 933, try dialing the Access Code for the PRI and then 933#.
When you're done, test 911 just to be sure.
from your 1st post i will assume you dial 8 to get out to the real world. so 8911 needs to dial the local 911 call center. but you also need to make sure that just picking up any phone and dialing 911 will also connect to the local 911 call center. (Kari's Law) Well if you are in the USA anyway. i dont know where you are at.
