We have an NT 4.0 domain. We want to upgrade the NT 4.0 DNS server(SerberB) to a new server running Server 2003. We currently have two NT 4.0 DNS servers. ServerA also serves DHCP requests.

What is the best way for me to install the new 2003 Server wihtout AD, but with DNS/DHCP for the existing NT 4.0 domain?

Thanks

You can simply put it in the NT domain, and then add the DNS and DHCP services. When it detects it is a member of a domain, it should give you the choice to just install the DNS/DHCP services without AD integration.

Just build a new 2003 server, join it to the NT domain and add the DHCP and/or DNS services. That is how our site is currently configured. The only thing we have left on NT is 1 PDC and 2 BDC's. Everything else is 2000/2003 running in an NT domain.
