Hello: When attempting to access the administrator setup function in Ad Hoc, I’m getting the following error;

Microsoft VBScript runtime error ‘0x800a0046’

Permission denied: ‘CreateObject’
line: 60

This error is displayed in a java window when clicking on the setup button in the Define Report Data Source screen and using the CE Administrator account to log in. We are running CE 9.0 Premium on a Windows 2000 server.

Has anyone come across this issue before? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rbenavides,

Well are you logging in with the "Administrator" ID, or your own personal ID, which is a member of Administrators in CE?

Because for some reason the default is only to check for Administrator (the actual user not the group). Crystal gives instructions for modifying Ad Hoc to allow the Administrators GROUP to all have admin access to Ad Hoc, but you must modify a baseVariables.CSP page in the Ad Hoc directory.

There are instructions in the Ad Hoc Help files or in the Ad HOc Userguide to modify this page, but beware the typos. These are located under the 'Administering Ad Hoc' section.

Hope this helps..

Cheers
