Hi all

We plan to use SmartDirectory to integrate VPN-1 to AD

We would like AD to master all users and groups and then create an Account Unit within SmartDirectory so that we can use the AD groups within Firewall Rules (i.e. see them as Objects in the console)

Will an Account Unit pull down all AD Groups (as well as users) by default or do we have to go create LDAP groups in SmartDirectory (which we want to avoid as we will then have to add users to those groups each time a new user is placed on AD)

I also assume theres no problem with an AD group acting as an source object on a Firewall rule?

Hello Joe,

You only have to configure Checkpoint to use LDAP authentication. The users and groups are added/removed in the AD. You just set the correct group for authentication and it is done.

Regards,
Abner
