Is it possible to get an AD dns server to replicate with an NT4.0 DNS server or a BIND server?

We have attempted to do so but not been successful. Are there any tricks to make this happen?

In order to be able to replicate with AD DNS you need a DNS server capable of managing SRV records which NT 4 does not support. BIND does support replication with AD DNS but you have to ensure the proper version is used. If I recall 8.12 and higher supports it (not sure on the exact version number) but I would gather the most current 9.x release would work best
There are plenty of articles explaining how to set this up just a google search away
