Anybody run into this:

I have GPO's setup for all users, folder re-direction etc. I have one user which wants to synchronize his Treo using hotsync. Attached using cradle and USB

Works as administrator, not as user... I did have it working when I set user as administrator and removed from GPOS.

Which setting would be preventing the user from synchronizing?

thanks

Is the client pc XP? Is so, user probably needs "modify" rights on the program files for synching (whatever it is).

This is usually the problem when you can run a program as "administrator" but not as "user" on the pc.

I gave the user full rights to the entire program files folder on the local machine - didn't help. Actually I gave him entire C: rights and still didn't work.

It is xp Pro with sp2. I am going to try re-installing and starting over again.

You may have to set up your user under the "Mobile User" group.

I don't have a mobile user group, or at least I don't see one. Using server 2003. Would that be a custom group you setup in AD?

Any policies (global or local) that restricts use of USB or Serial connections to admins only?

I don't see any policies restricting the use of USB or Serial connections. I have to take a deeper look at the local machine perhaps. No software loaded - other than company provided daily use software.

It's kind of thrown me for a loop.
