Hi guys,

since a few days the activity protocol is totally empty.
The jobs run well, but before I can see all the activity during backup, now there is not one line in it.

I took the option 'all activities' in the Job protocol options and didn't change anything in the jobs.
The only thing I did was to copy a new/fresh database from another ARCserve-installation because I've got a lot errors before.

Anybody some ideas?

Thanks very much, regards,
Peter

HI,
What version of ARCserve is this..
assuming it is 9 or later..

1. RUn Cstop
2.verify caloggerd.exe is not running in the task manager
3. rename the log folder
4. Cstart

So it Shall be Written!
So it Shall be Done!!

Hi speshalyst,

sorry, I'm using 11.1.
I did like you say and it seems to work again
(I can see some messages now).
So I hope it'll be the same during backup.
Does it had to do with missing rights for the old log-folder?
Can it be they changed during Service Pack1 installation?

Thank you very much for your help, best regards,
Peter

It really is not something with permissions.. but the caloggerd acting weird at times.. :)

So it Shall be Written!

@speshalyst,

now this happpens nearly every week.
The activitiy protocoll stops to work. If I do like you said:
1. RUn Cstop
2.verify caloggerd.exe is not running in the task manager
3. rename the log folder
4. Cstart
everything works again,, but only a few days.
Is there an error in the Job-Engine and a fix for it?

Best reagrds,
Peter

Please ignore!
I had not enough memory on Disk.

Sorry,
Peter
