We give an employee in our home "restricted account" PC access that is supposedly only for basic e-mail and casual web browsing. We think it is being massively abused, but I'd like to be sure before questioning or blocking PC access altogether. The Parental Controls app inherent to Vista isn't all that great nor user friendly. I'm interested in monitoring a little more than just websites visited. Also want to see:

- number of pages printed
- overall PC usage time (this would be easy if Windows had an auto-logoff feature . . . . grrrrr)

Any software recommendations? Freeware would be nice, but I am willing to pay if I can find exactly what I want. Thanks!

StatWin is along the right lines, but maybe a bit too feature packed (at least the PRO version). Wish they had a StatWin lite. Looks like they give a free 30 day trial. May give it a try this week.

Any other recommendations?

If they have their own login, you can track stuff like that in the event viewer.

Just my 2¢

Our company monitors employees. But you should remember that they should be warned about it before you install spyware on their computers. As we use Mac OS, I can't give you any particular tip. However, in case someone is going to need it - ActyMac DutyWatch is great for Mac OS.
