Activexcomponent can't create oject message on start up?

I get this message on start up:

Error: Activexcomponent can't create object

Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error

Does anyone know what it means? And how do I correct it? Does anyone know how to correct it? Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

What is in your StartUp folder? Is there a .VBS? Restart in safe mode if necessary. Try restarting with boot logging.

I think it has something to do with my warranty being up! The only thing I have noticed that has changed is that I can't pull up the menu when I go to microsoft email support! Can anyone confirm this?

Check and see if there is a .vbs in the startup group. It could be a virus.

Easiest way is to run msconfig.exe. You can execute it from the start memu. Goto "start" click on "run" and put in "msconfig". It will bring up an application that shows all programs running at startup. If you look on the "startup" tab, you can disable programs starting up at boot. The good thing about this program is that if you disable something you didn't think you needed but you really do, you can run it again and turn it back on. If there is a program(probably at the bottom of the list) that has an extension of ".vbs", then it is probably a virus. One of the most common one is "network.vbs". This will not actually get rid of the virus. If you have a virus protection program, you should update it and maybe it will clean the virus for you. If you don't have an anti-virus program, you can run one free online at

http://www.antivirus.com.

Click on the free stuff on the front page and it will download and you can check your system.
If it is not a virus, then you can use the msconfig to disable the programs starting up until you find which one is causing the error.

Thanks again DeanSpencer! The only .vbs extension in the file list under my start up tab, was for something called ztgserver switch. It was located in
C:\Program Files\support.com\client\server\server.vbs! Have you ever heard of such a thing? I disabled it and tryed to restart but after 2 minutes had to shut off manually. But when I restarted no error warning was in sight! So now what should I do? I really think it has something to do with the fact that my 3 month free support is up! What do you think? Because I really don't know I have just been using a computer since this Feb. I have definitely learned a lot quickly Thanks to people like you. However It seems I learn 1 thing and there are a thoudsand more to go with it! But I do know I DO NOT want any viruses! I use the Mcaffe Virus scan and am supposed to get updated automatically for 1 year so YOU TELL ME!

I don't think it is a virus. What type of pc is it? You were talking about the 3 months of free support, it does probably have something to do with it after looking at the command line you put in your message.
Did I read it correctly, that after the pc locked up once, the next time you booted it up it came up ok? Is it working ok now?
