When running ICR Crystal reports, I am getting error message "this application is about to initialize ActiveX controls that might be unsafe. If you trust the source of this file, select ok and the controls will be initialized using your current workspace settings".

We are on Progression Pervasive 7.6.4 spb, PSQL 8.5
Crystal 8.5.0.217

This is a machine that crashed and I reformatted and reloaded Windows XP. I have run the "normal fix" of running the VBA 6.2 installation (VBA6.msi in the VB directory) and also have
tried copying the Cruflma.dll, cruflba.dll, crviewer.dll and craxdrt.dll from a "working machine" and registering.

If I keep clicking cancel, I finally get the ICR entry screen, but then the MacCROur.execute 2147191856 error pops up.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
Donna

AFter 36 clicks on OK...it works.

There is a security setting somewhere that makes windows think this is unsafe. I am checking on it but probably won't have it until the end of the days.

Software Sales, Training, Implementation and Support for Macola, Synergy, and Crystal Reports. Check out our Macola tools:

Yeh...I remembered that and have racked my brain. Thanks.

Thought you had to add the drive letter of the server with macola into your trusted network or intranet sites with lower security.

Thanks. If you are talking about going under Tools, Security and unchecking the automatically detect the Intranet network...I already tried that.

in IE,
Tools / Internet Options / Security / Local Intranet
then click "Sites"
then click "Advanced"

add then name of your server to the list of sites

eg: \\macolaserver

That seems to work for Macola. If it is the same issue, it might work for Crystal.

Nope...thanks for the try.

Nope..didn't work. Mike found a 2003 Excel problem posted and the fix for that worked.

Add the following Key to the registry.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VBA\Security
Value name: LoadControlsInForms
Value type: REG_DWORD
Value Data: 1
