Dear Greater I.T. Intellect,

I am using Office XP SP2 on a Windows XP SP2 client.

When copying from Word XP (data being copied has HTML content) to a new message in Outlook XP, I get the infamous:

Your current security settings prohibit running active x controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly.

I've read and read and read, posts and forums. There seems to be a slew of fixes for this problem related to I.E. accessing webpages directly. However, I still have not achieved resolution w/ the aforementioned.

Any help would be tremendously appreciated,

DreamBoat,

Thanks for the reply.

Doing the 'behind the scenes' key combo, shows only hyperlinks in the doc.

The search for resolution continues. Thanks for the tip, dreamboat...I'm sure it'll come in handy in the near future.

if this is in outlook you have to do a 2 step process

first change the settings for active X controls in IE...make sure you enable them.

second goto outlook tools options then the security tab and change the setting there from restricted to internet and see if that fixes the problem.

I just did that on mine and it fixed it.

hope this helps

Buffalotech.

Thank you so much for the input. Resolution was achieved by changing the internet security zone in I.E. (from restricted to internet)

Much obliged for the input, and solution.
