I just received news that my company has acquired several new branches that have Avaya phone systems in them. I have been given the task of changing the day and night greetings of the voice mails. I was told that the systems have an Active Voice Repartee. I am several states away from the sites and was wondering if anyone had instructions on remote maintenance of such a voicemail. Can these be changed via phone commands or do you need to dial in with a software program, any maintenance guides would also be helpful.

Thanks
Clem

Ok, if you want to dial in, there obviously needs to be a line and modem. When you have that, you'll need to get yourself a copy of Cosession. That's the only way to change any kind of prompting, etc. To re-record the greetings, you'll need to get into the admin mailbox. You'll also have to find out greeting/transaction box it is. IT's not as cut and dry as Avaya messaging. But it also can do so much.

Start off by having someone on site go to the VM and log in. Default password should be sandy. Hit F6 to go to next screen for directory list. Press Ctrl J and type in sandy or simmons and hit enter. Get the ext. # of Sandy's box. I forgot the default.

Then call in, when you here the auto attendant, press 9 and sandy's ext. and it will prompt you into administration and you'll get into the greetings.

Thanks Killbox,

IT is now the title, but telco is the game, normally I work on the nortel equipment , but have been tasked with maintaining these remote sites. I will be at one of the sites next week. The modem numbers that I was given has no answer, so it is on site support only at least the first time. The girls over there said that there were no manuals for the Repartee. Is there anyone that has a copy they could e-mail me?

Not me. It's kind of a difficult VM, even with the book because when you know it, you can really customize the VM different ways and send stuff all over the place in it. Good luck, let me know if I can help.
