Active job hung?

I have got BE 8.6 running on an NT patform. The backup of the servers works fine, but when backing up the Exchange 5.5 it takes ages and hangs. If I kill the active job will it corrupt any files or cause damage? Especially as people are actively using the mail server.

Help...it is still going now 5hrs later.

Hi, we get this problem running BE 8.5 on NT4 servers. It is ok the kill the BE services to stop the job.

Our backup jobs get stuck on the Exchange Directory or the Information store. It seems to be a fault with Exchange and we get round it by rebooting the exchange servers, once this has been done the backup runs ok.
