Please could someone help, I'm looking for the best solution to implementing Active Drectory.

I have two sites, one in Leeds the second in London setup using an NT4.0 domain with the Primary domain controller in London and the Backup Domain controller in Leeds, I have a registered domain name and all external access comes thought a FireWall in the London site, what is the best and most simple solution to implementing Active Directory???

Also my two Doamin controllers are also my Microsoft Exchange 5.5 Servers for each site.

Thanks

Upgrade your PDC to Windows 2000 first. Win2k cannot act in a BDC role and as such you need to upgrade your PDC first. You can leave your Win2k server running in mixed mode for as long as you like which basically makes the Win2k box act as an NT4 PDC emulator, or something that your BDC can look to. When you get your BDC upgraded you can switch to native mode. I dont know what kind of site link you have between your servers, but if they are indeed in two physical locations, I would go with seperate internal domain names. That way you will eliminate much of the authentication traffic from crossing the link being the local machines will be on different domains, thus looking to their local DC for authentication. All Complaints Will Be Routed To /dev/null

Thanks CaffieneNnicotine,

I have a 2MB leased line between the two physical sites, what I wanted to achieve is a set-up as follows: -

Domain.com (this is the registered domain name)
SiteA.Domain.com (London site)
SiteB.Domain.com (Leeds site)

Is this possible?
What how would I implement this>

I don't know how this will effect the external connection to the internet plus incoming connection through the FireWall in SiteA.

Not sure if that makes sense

Thanks
