Active Directory Very Slow

This is fresh installion on the Windows 2000 server.
I feel that the active Directory applicaion are really running very very slow on my computer.

Also the system takes more time to boot, I understand that it would take considerable more time because of Active Direcotory overhead.

I mean AD Users and Computers, Site and Service application.

Can I tweak Active Directory to improve performace.

Most likely this is a DNS issue. When you set up the server, did you install DNS before or during the promotion?
 
Ya, I selected DCPromo to install the DNS for me during the installation.

DNS is running fine without any problems.

I was curious if there is anything that I should look in the registry to tweak for the performance.

How long does it take the server to boot? Does it also take a while to log in? Aside from that, what specifically is running slow?
