Hello,

I have need to move users and groups from one PDC to another. I read the the other threads on this subject but nothing worked.
What happened is there was two servers with shared files and scripts on both. They both were DCs on Win2k Advanced Server. The one server's registry was corrupted and the local Admin clean installed and has it back on the domain.
But we need to move the users and groups.

Please Help.

Thanks

Are you talkinga bout DomainControllers of a same AD different domain? same domain? Different AD?

What do you want to migrate then? Users and groupss? Files? GroupPolicies?

The two DCs are not replicating or seeing each other in the AD. They are on the same Domain.

If registry entries are corrupted, and who knows what more, then the question is: did you do backups for that computer/AD?
If not, then you can try a tool like csvde.exe or ldif.exe to extract the objects that you want from AD (at least to have the list with users and groups..).

About ldifde.exe and csvde.exe, try a search in google for them. They are part of the Windows 2000 Resource Kit.
eg: csvde wil make a query to the AD and the result will be in CSV format.
