Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with moving a Win2K3 Active Directory infrastructure to a fresh Win2K3 installation on a new server? I may need to upgrade our primary domain server, but wanted to know if there was a way to move all of the AD info/data into the new install on the new server?

Any suggestions are appreciated

Thanks

Sorry, I'm not a big AD person. But can't you just setup a 2nd domain controller? All the data will replicate to it from the primary.

If you want to do a restore, I have done that before to. You'll need to check into your backup software. I use Arcserve, they have a step by step how to document.

Good luck,
Debi

I suppose I could connect another machine and make it the backup DC, but I was looking for ways to just back up the AD system data/files using the native Windows NTBackup program. We have ARCServe 9 in use on other servers but I've never restored from ARCServe before, so I'm just looking to have some extra redundancy.

Thanks
