What is an active transformation and passive transformation?

Are you perhaps confusing connected/unconnected lookup strategy?

Active Transformations basically are those which changes or alters the no. of rows that is passed to them whereas Passive Transformation doesn't change the no. of rows.

Some examples...

Active Trans - > Filter, Aggregrator etc
Passive Trans - > Expression, Seq Gen etc

Sri

Perfect definition is:

Active Transformation: No.of rows takes as input should be equal to no.of rows goes out from it as output.
ex: Expression, stored procedure,...

Passive: MAY not equal to
ex: Filter, Router, Rank etc...

I think that exame is senseless to go for.
If I did not pay would not do exams.
Questions are more difficult to understand (ambigous etc.) than tricky to answer technically.
You would not get any manuals to study from, they will just send you general topics for every exam.
My advice is, do not waste your time and money, anyway great majority of certified people are Informatica staff...and they did their certifications within few days(all 5 exams...)
