Partner ACS 5.0 System

I have the contact closure installed for a parking lot gate and have a button assigned to operate it at various phones in my office.

Is there a way to program the system to allow an inbound caller to dial a particular extension, or whatever, to trigger the contact closure.

For security reasons, I'm guessing no, but thought I would ask.

Thanks
Scott

you could use a line sharing device like the stick and hook one of the ports (accessable by dialing the phone number and then *3 for example }

to trip a relay and activate the gate opener.

What is a Partner ACS 5.0 extension's line voltage when ringing versus not-ringing. (need to get a new battery for my multimeter)

What I've come up with so far is to somehow attach a 9v powered RF gate "clicker" to the ringer of an extension phone. So that when the extension rings, the clicker is powered (or switched via relay) and activated.

Any more suggestions. Thanks

you could use one of these relays

on the first pair of any station orcoming off the aux plug on the newer phones and then when the staion rings it would give you a momentary close relay that would open your gate

Why can't he use a "doorphone" extension with a remote contact? Should do the trick, gives talkback capability, and you can close a dry contact with tones. See "Contact Closure Programming" (#612 and #613), Doorphone Programming (#604, #605, #606), and to activate from the end-user phone use <Feat>4-1 or <Feat>4-2. Set it for Momentary or Toggle, and program the time to remain activated.

l finally got around to getting the Viking LBD-2 Ring and Loop Dectection Relay and connected it to an unused extension and my RF Transmitter. All set up and working just fine, Thanks. I can dial in, wait for voice mail to pick up, Press the gate extension number and the gate opens, Viola'.

1 Question:

The Viking that I have has both "ring" and "loop" detection. As it stands now, I am only using the "Ring" detection from the extension port. I have both the Contact Closure Adjunct and the Viking relay connected to the same switch on the RF transmitter. I'm not sure if this is a bad idea. Also I plan on powering the RF transmitter with the DC output of the Viking. (right now it uses a 9V battery)

Regardless, I would prefer, for the sake of simplicity, to connect the Viking "Loop" detection circuit to the contact closure port on the ACS. Is this possible?

I tried connecting the center 2 connectors from the closure port on the ACS to the 2 Loop detection terminals on the LBD-2, but it was a no go.

Suggestions?

Thanks.
