Actionscripting w/ buttons

Hi all -

I am not new to Flash, but I usually spend my time 'rigging' pre-existing stuff, so I am familiar with the basics.

I am having a LOT of trouble trying to get a simple hyperlink attached to my buttons. I created two instances of buttons (yes buttons, not graphics or movies), however - no matter what I do - I can't see to get the Actionscript pane to let me enter the 'onRelease' code -- saying that "the current selection cannot have actionscript attached to it. I have uploaded my .fla - it is a very simple one, I was wondering if someone could diagnose what the hell I'm doing wrong, and get back to me?

note: using AS3 with Flash8/CS3

There is no "onRelease" in AS3. Also I don't think you can add a code to a button in AS3. Either use AS3 properly by setting up an event listener, or use AS2.
