Hello all

OLDNEWBIE has given me an example of a button which fades in and out on rollover, using action scripts. (Thread 250-649509)

There are two tweens that do all the fading, and three actionscripts that stop the movie at the beginning, middle and end of the movie.

So essentially, when you roll the mouse over the button, the colour fades to white, and when you move the mouse off, it fades back to grey.

I realise that I could just ask OLDNEWBIE for some changes to be made to the button... but does anyone else know how to always make the button roll back to grey, if the user just rolls quickly over the button, and so not activating the second part of the movie?

Hope that makes sense!

If you need an example, just let me know...

Cheers guys!
(Especially OLDNEWBIE)

But all of those buttons are in the same movie, not individual movies in different cells in the html.

Ahhhhh, I see...

So If I create a menu bar all in one movie, it will work?

I think I might import the banner above it too, and maybe do some flashy effects on it.

BUT, like I said, when I import the banner .PNG or .JPG, the colours either go all fuzzy, or they go all crazy!!

I have a few fade effects, and colour masks on the banner - which obviously causes the craziness!

Any ideas how to get around this?

OLDNEWBIE,

I got another star for ya... I have managed to split my banner/menu bar into 2 parts.
The right part is the image (The one that goes all crazy when I import it into flash), and the left part is the actual flash menu bar.

I cannot seem to work out how to import the button that you created for me, as when I import the SWF file into the new movie - it doesn’t do anything. This is because the code behind it does not come with the swf file.

With me so far?

So, I would really appreciate it if you could either take the movies that I have now, and merge them for me... or tell me how it can be done (i.e. Create a new button on the menubar, copy this code from here, etc...)

Cheers in advance!

Some confusion Brett!

Send me your files, if that's what you're saying. Quite busy today though... Will only be able to look into it tonight!

I have somehow managed to work it all out myself, and I now have a fully functioning flash menubar WITH fade in/out effect on all buttons.

Allso - I found a program called SwishMax, which is a flash generator, which allows you to create some pretty impressive button and text effects in seconds!

I would recommend it to all you guys.

Thanks for all the help so far OLDNEWBIE You are a Star!
