Hello,
I have a client that has a brand new Dell PC. The system came with Office 2003, but I found that Act 5 is incompatible with Office 2003, so I uninstalled it and installed Office 2K instead. Act has been crashing several times a day with the message, ACT! 5.0 Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. I found I could make this happen after a fresh start simply by opening Outlook, opening Act, doing a lookup, sending an e-mail to the contact from Act, then closing Act. I thought there might be some residual Office 2003 files or registry entries causing the problem, so I reformated and reloaded the system from scratch, without loading Office 2003 and only loading Office 2K and Act. It still does the exact same thing. Has anyone else seen this problem or is this possibly an issue with Act 5 and Windows XP?
Thanks,
John
