Have a customer who wants 5 doorphones. I know the ACS only allows 2.
Am thinking of assigning station ports as hotlines (#603) which would dial a group created in #502.
I'd be using real doorphones connected to the station ports, but no actual "doorphone" programming.

Anyone see any problem with this setup? Anyone ever tried it?

Thanks, DFed

Good, except that a hotline can only dial a single extension, not a group number, so only one phone can ring.

You could loop a station port to a CO port, give that CO port a distinct ring, make it incoming only (or take it out of ALS), and have the hotline extensions call that station port.

Okay thanks... didn't know hotline could only dial an extension and not a group.
Do you see any reason using actual doorphones as analog extensions wouldn't work on the ports?

That part will work fine - I've got a B&B with a door phone that hotlines to a single line cordless for afterhours arrivals, works well.

Okay Tommy, thanks for the help.
