Whenever customer uses Do Not Disturb feature all calls go to the receptionist instead of their own voice mail box. Tried changing the processor module, but problem persists. Anyone have any thoughts on how to fix this?

Thanks

Can you tell us what kind of voicemail is being used in the system? (Model & Revision).

There is a known issue with DND when trying to use a Partner Mail VS R5.0 with a Partner ACS R7 processor.

Dexman,
That's the ticket. They have a ACS R7 and a VS 5.0 voicemail. Should I change voice mail or is there a fix/patch?

Thanks, Fred

If you are able to find an Avaya Business Partner locally who can apply the patch, you could continue to use the Partner Mail VS R5.

I, personally, would upgrade to the Partner Messaging platform and purchase a new R7 voicemail module, but that's just my feelings.

Try this, it may solve your problem. It will not send the call to VM right away, but wait until the VMScover rings is reached. On the phone in question, provide a line which is assigned to the ext. which does not have an actual co live on the co port on the system. have them press this instead of the DND button. You do not even need to tell them it is not a DND button. This will create a busy ext. on that CO line, and it will then only ring one time. The phone will not continue to ring audibly, but the caller will most likely hear continued ringing until the VMS cover kicks in.
It does not solve the problem, but it does eliminate the ringing so the customer will no longer be bothered by, or notice continued ringing. They will probably not know the difference. If you have few enough exts. it shold make them think they have DND, use a different CO line for each ext. Wish I had a better solutuion, this just makes the ext not continue to ring. Some old toshiba systems I used to work on had DND limits for quantity of DND buttons, this is something I figured out for them, except the toshiba had Call forward busy settings so it would go to VM right away.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.
