Ok, I mostly work on Definity's, but one of our remote sites shut down that had a Partner ACS R4.9 with Partner ACS Messaging 1.0. I pulled the system last fall and it has sat in a box for a few months. Yesterday I took it out and decided to start learning it since we may be putting it back out at a remote site.
Being the piddler that I am, I notice the AAA batteries in the processor. Like a dummy, I pulled them thinking they needed to be replaced without considering it would reset the unit, which was unplugged.
So it hit me when the time on the display read 12:00am that I had screwed up.
I have the ACS PC Administration software installed as well as the Partner Messaging software installed on my laptop. I had my hyperterminal setup to dial into the system and do the **3 command to get me access to change the IP of the Messaging. I have connected 4 POTS lines to the system and they are arranged on lines 1-4. When i call in on one of those lines I just get a message "your call is being transferred" and it seems to do this in a loop. So the **3 command isn't working. I have plugged in a crossover cable to the LAN port on the messaging and it still has its same IP from when it was in the field. I can connect to it with the software and get to the web interface. Everything seems to be ok with it other than I am having some problems listening and importing announcments. I seem to have lost the announcment fot the day attendant and the night attendant greeting won't let me listen to it. It says there was an error or something... I mainly just want to get the IP setup so I an have it on the regular network and will worry about learning all the console commands later.
I can see with the PC Admin software all of the options to setup new statinos etc. The problem is I don't know the first thing about the standard way to setup a Partner system. I've got the 34D phone plugged in x10 and another 18D plugged in x11.
Is there a defined step by step process for what to do to setup a Partner system such as this?
Any help would be appreciated...
