Is there a way to have messaging repeat the day menu after it plays rather than transferring at the end of the message? Also is it possible to repeat messages by pressing a single digit rather than * #.
*# goes back to the previous menu unless you are already at the top menu (the auto attendant) then it will repeat the auto attendant (so if you are in a submenu, you can back up)
You can point an extension number (doesn't have to be a real extension number, you could use 68 for example) to an auto attendant, set its phone status as No Phone, and when you transfer to that extension, although you hear "your call is being transferred", the auto attendant answers again.
So you could point selector code 9 perhaps, to transfer to Ext. 68, and tell your caller "to repeat this menu, press 9".
You can also set the Dial-0/Timeout option to transfer to Ext. 68 and have the AA repeat until the caller makes a selection or hangs up.
You really need to download the manuals for your system, they are all available for free.
In the Messaging, when you go to extensions, and enter an extension number that does not already have a mailbox assigned to it, you will notice that you have 3 options. 1 to assign a mailbox to the extension, 2 to assign transfer only permission (no mailbox, but the ability for the automated attendant to transfer calls to it), or assign it to an automated attendant (so that when a call to that extension covers to voicemail, an automated attendant will answer instead of a mailbox)
I downloaded the manual and will do my best to avoid "going to the well" until I have exhausted all other resources. I really do appreciate all of your advice and patience.
