We have an engineer who saves autocad DWG files as Adobe PDF files and 99.9% of our users have no trouble printing them but a few users have a major problem. The print preview looks great but once it prints (to any of our printers) there are thousands of scrambled lines all over the page as if every drag and move and drop is being shown on the printout. Has anybody else encountered this? Thanks![morning]

What versions of software are involved?

Is the user with a problem using a different version of Acrobat, or is everything the same?

Are that user's printer drivers up to date?

Have you tried selecting (or deselecting) "Print as Image" from the print options? How about some of the advanced printing options? Is everything the same between a user who can and a user who can't print?

Just a few things to look at, since I have not seen this particular problem, but I have seen a few screwy PDF's come from Autocad.

The AutoCAD is 2004 and the Acrobat Reader is 7.0. It's a brand new (week old) XP Pro machine and everything else works great. The print drivers are the newest according to the HP site. I tried the PRINT AS IMAGE option and it had the same result. I actually downloaded a free reader from sombody else and it seems to work fine now. I know that's not really fixing the problem, just the symptom but it works for now! Thanks.
