Hi

Im looking for a utility that will basically create a report on all File System ACL's on a Windows 2000/2003 server. What tools are best for this??.

I basically have to merge 3 servers to 1 server and am looking at an easy way to audit the 3 servers (ACL's in particular) so I can replicate the same ACL config on the new server

Thanks

Another tool you can use is showacls.exe which is on the 2000 resource kit.

I have found this just as effective for getting ACL's of directories.

Syntax is simply showacls /s <path>

You can simply pipe the results to a txt file so

showacls /s D: > permissions.txt

It will list all directories and the ACL for it.

(only thing to remember is that if you got a lot of directories then expect a big file!!!)

ap..
i think thats the one i meant too actually

Showacls is exactly what I need...
