I am having issues with logging into a system registered in our domain. I am a domain admin, but when I try and log in I get this error message: "The system cannot log you onto this domain because the systems computer account in its primary domain is missing or the password on that account is incorrect."

I'm not sure what this is saying because the computer is registered on the domain, and I have changed the password. I've also tried recreating the computer on the domain, but that didnt work either. Any suggestions?

The person that used to use this computer was laid off, and it seems as though he had changed the administrators account (before I was hired).

Do you need his account? Why not disable it and create a new one? Matt Wray

I dont need his account, but I do need on his laptop. I cant login using his or my account (which is the domain administrators account).

The easiest way to fix this is to join a workgroup on the laptop and restart. Delete the computer account in active directory and then join the domain again from the laptop and provide credentials to create the computer account. Kevin Mattson
