Anyone got any idea what version the current ACIS is based on?

ACSS - SME
APSS - SME
APDS - Unified Communications
ACS - IP Telephony
ACA - IP Telephony

Hi It's based on Version 8.0. I actually wrote and passed it last week.

Yes we have VoIP in Cape Town

Hey I have only been working on the system for 3 months. :)

Lol, you should have said took the test and passed it, saying you wrote the test means you actually came up with all the questions and answers i.e you were the author of the test, so I was being humorous :)

I took a class for it at the distributor last month. I took the class to avoid those gotchas, and there were quite a few.

According to the instructor, the new test is based on Release 8.0. As with previous versions, some of the answers are somewhat less than apparent.

They do try and catch you out and also throw a lot of sales orientated questions in for good measure (totally irrelevant), at least they did on the ACSS exam I took :)

Hi there.

So there is a new test? I wrote the 6401 in April... is there a new test number?

Regards

My ACE just went away...guess I should go get these now...

The most annoying thing about the ACIS is if you passed the Implementing IP office exam that was before it and then did the ACSS when it came out, you now have to do the ACIS as well. The ACSS isnt good enough to remain authorised.

Stupid system.

That would explain why they're pushing me to take it...

APDS - Unified Communications
ACS - IP Telephony
ACA - IP Telephony

Dan, I took it on Saturday. I have my ACSS already as well. You should not need to study at all. It is very basic stuff.

Not expecting it to be overly hard, the ACSS was no problem and I took that on beta. Just wanted to make sure it was not asking questions on old versions where the answers have changed somewhat!

I only have ACSS and Avaya accepted that for our company.
Perhaps this is new, i already have it from the start.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

They say ACIS is an installer credential and ACSS is a maintain credential.

To install in the states, you need ACIS peter.

When i did the ACSS there was no ACIS.
I even did the free ACSS trial exam (you get all questions)
So now i have ACSS but no ACIS.
I know that ACIS is a prerequisite for ACSS but it is valid for me.
In fact it has been extended till 2014.
If Avaya tells me that i cannot install an IPO without having ACIS besides it then i will start laughing very loud right in there face :)

I had the ACSS, but in the states they said even if you have the ACSS you now have to have the ACIS. I questioned it with our Avaya rep and he confirmed that is the case. The email from Avaya I received says:

"NOTE – If you have installers with the ACSS-SME, you STILL need the ACIS-SME credential. (silly I know, don't kill the messenger)
You need to act now!"

Yeah, so the individual doesn't need the ACIS, but the company does. This is why the two of us with ACSS' didnt do the ACIS but instead got our yonngest engineer upto scratch so he could pass it.
