ACDEV POS not updating companies

We have been running version 2008.1.50 with Accpac 5.5 for years on a Windows 2008 Server for years without any major problems.

A few weesks ago when I was doing a Database Update I notic after all messges seems to process as normal, a message came up saying "update failed for companies: XXXDAT".
I have done integrity checks on the Bank Services, AR,IC, and Tax services data and everything passes.

Can you please advise if there is a fix to this. I really don't want to have to go through the pain of reinstalling a few days before Christmas.

Try check the rebuild links checkbox when you run database update.

The dbupdate log has the following message at the end of each attempt:
Exception Error Message: com.ms.wfc.data.AdoException: (0x80004005) (0x80004005) ODBC--call failed.
