Accpac Upgrade

I am currently planning an upgrade to our Accpac software (pervasive database running on Netware). We are going from 4.2a to 5.4. I will be installing on a new Netware server running PSQLv9. The last time I upgraded there was a utility to convert 6.1 data. For this upgrade, can I simply do a DB load? All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

That's it? Could I be that lucky?? Are there any other pitfalls? We only use GL & AP.

The only thing that I am adding is the "Printboss" software so we can print on blank stock. Any issues or recommendations on that?

Many pitfalls and gotchas.
Read the upgrade documentation.
Since you are going from way back to 5.4 AND you are upgrading Pervasive this will be an interesting experience for you.
Converting the data involves activating the new modules in Accpac.
I would upgrade Pervasive and Accpac on the existing server and convert the data on the existing server, and once the data has been converted move it over to the new server. Reason being you need the 4.2 program files if you need to post something or clear something or do something.

I haven't purchased the Accpac upgrade yet so unfortunately I don't have any documentation. I'm just trying to figure out the upgrade process step-by-step.

I had initially envisioned installing 5.4 on the new server, dump the data on the old, and load it onto the new. That seems not to be the case. Where (and when) does the existing data get converted? Is converting and loading the same thing?

Converting and loading is definitely not the same thing. Do yourself a favor, have a trained professional do the upgrade.

Sorry. I didn't make that last post very clear. I know that converting and loading data are two different things. It just seemed that the terms were being mixed. I'm sure it will make sense to me when I get the documentation.
