ACCPac ODBC Professional

I want to create a link between Access97 and AccPac plus to keep data current between our internal membership database and AccPac. I have contacted our AccPac representative and they told me about ODBC Professional for AccPac, but the cost was outrageous! ($800+) Is there another alternative that allows me read/write access?

What is the database type for ACCPAC? MS SQL, Pervasive, or what?

I know its not MS SQL we are using ACCPac Plus for dos, I do not know the database type - how do I find that out?

Ask your ACCPAC dealer.

I believe it is Pervasive. Do you ever see a Pervasive window open up when you log into ACCPAC?

I did call our AccPac rep and the version we are using is AccPac Plus ver. 6.5 for dos. Its using its own proprietary database format.

I think you are out of luck , unless you upgrade. You can only access the data using a accpac solution with the dos version

I was afraid of that answer. I was just hoping that somebody out there didn't want to pay that high price either and just developed their own stuff. Thanks for your reply.
