I have a client moving from: ERP 5.4a running on Windows 2003 & MSSQL 2000
to: ERP 5.5a running on Windows 2008 & MSSQL 2005 on a completely new server.

They also have several macros built with VBA using COMAPI.

The users connect via Remote Desktop Connection & LANPak licences. The techies have discovered the web application and are asking if we can move to that instead of RDC (it would make their lives easier).

I've seen numerous comments on the forum that basically say "If you value your sanity - DON'T". My question is: does that still hold true for the 5.5 version?

Cheers, May

Web deployment is a waste of time, stick with RDC - believe me RDC is much easier. This holds true for any 5.x version.

Agreed. Your techies have listened to the salesies, and the salesies are full of crap.

Another thing is that all those VBA macros will not run with web deployment without changes.

LOL! That's pretty much what I figured, but had to gather my ammunition to nip it in the bud.

Thank you!
