ACCPAC DOS 6.1 - illegal characters

Are there any known illegal characters when downloading into ACCPAC 6.1 for DOS? Sucha s a carriage return, etc.

No specific issues. The product is ACCPACG DOS 6.1

Just asking whether there are any special characters that would cause issues when uploading AR or AP data into the tables.

Sure, there are tons of illegal characters. Probably 150 out of 256. Keep it to standard English alphanumerics, and you'll be fine.
