Hi,

I get the following error when trying to run dayend:

1/ Serial numbers do not match.
2/ Formatted serial number is blank.
3/ Invalid input. Location cannot be blank.
4/ Location does not exist in IC.
5/ Internal error. fetch (589 INTERLEV.C). Write down the message, leave ACCPAC
and Windows and return to the system prompt. Reset your computer and try the task
again. See Appendix A in the I/C User Guide.
6/ Day End Processing could not process all transactions.

I have checked what I can but to no avail. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as even our Accpac consultants can't fix this.

Alex.

Sounds like data integrity errors, at which point do you get the error in day end: PO, OE, IC... ?
Have you run a data integrity check on IC/OE/PO?
Also check RVSpy/DBSpy for errors.
The fact that the location code is blank tells me you have a detail line that is messed up in either OE or PO. If you watch day end processing and can catch the order/shipment/invoice/PO/receipt where it stops you can edit the tables and hunt for the offending record(s).

Further info:

I had tried running the IC integrity, but it does not complete and crashes out.

It is not clear where the dayend stops. ie: it goes through PO and Receipts, then stops on IC Adjustments. The next time it stops at a PO entry.

I have used RVSpy, but it does not indicate which transaction is causing the problem.

I will use DBSpy and report back accordingly.

Do you have All the Temp file names from where Accpac takes the data to the History/Main data files? (ie: POPORI)
Maybe I could check the 1st data line in each of these files and hopefully find something suspicious?

Thanks for your efforts so far.

Look in \Accpac\Docs\POxxxENG\POTECHINFO.WRI for the temp tables, they are marked with a *. OE does not have temp tables for day end processing, but PO has a misery of temp tables.
If day end falls over it different places then maybe you have other problems boet, like corrupted indexes or server issues or mismatched service packs. I had that once with a site where Accpac was installed locally and the service packs were not all the same on all the workstations.

Does database verify report any errors?

Thanks - will check and revert back. You 2nd part worries me as our current consultants recently re-installed (about 4 weeks ago) our software. (Will have them check to ensure all Service Packs are valid)

- Currently 11:30pm at not at work - will let you know about DBSpy in the morning.

ps:
('boet' - RSA - not appropriate for this thread but where're you at?)
