I have two computers, one (the old one) that is running ACCPAC 4.2 with Crystal Reports 8 on Windows 2000 and the other (new one) which runs ACCPAC 4.2 with Crystal Reports 9 in XP. I currently have to switch back between the two computers for two separate circumstances. The first is when I print an invoice, the Quantity and Description are garbled if I am running CR version 9, it is fine on the old computer. The second problem is that for some reason I am unable to open an AR Receipt batch list with the new computer but have no troubles with the old one. Has anyone heard of ACCPAC 4.2 not being compatible with Crystal Reports 9 in some cases? I cannot locate our Crystal Report 8 software to see if this might be the issue.

Any idea why I am unable to open an AR Receipt batch list with the new computer but have no troubles with the old one. This is the error message I receive System error. Call to rlSetKeyInfo{AR3100D1B} failed.

That did not work, is it a problem with XP and V4.2?

Shouldn't be, I've run 4.2 on XP before. The rlSetKeyInfo error sounds like a bad install. "rl" stands for "Realizer", that's the old language this version was built on.

There's no relationship between that error and the Crystal version, you're dealing with two separate problems.

Morever, the version of the Crystal editor you have installed shouldn't prevent you from running reports, because Accpac uses its own Crystal runtime engine. You should only get in trouble if you actually edit one of the stock reports with CR9, then it won't run in Accpac anymore.

Try this:

1. Rename C:\Windows\Crystal
2. Run ..\PLUSWIN\WSSETUP\SETUP.EXE to recreate C:\Windows\Crystal

Turns out it was a font problem within the Crystal Report itself, I edited it in Crystal 8 then opened it up on the other computer in Crystal 9. Now I am only left with the problem of not being able to open up the receipt batch list using XP, I will try to re-install as per your suggestion.
