Went to set up a mailbox for a new user. When I entered our smtp conventiion (we use first.last@xyz.org), my new user would not accept a mailbox john.doe@xyz.org--said that the email address already exists. But I can't find it anywhere. How can this be? How can I fix this? Thanks.
 
Just a shot -- is john.doe@xyz.org a hidden address? Go to View|Hidden Recipients.
 
just a thought, can you send messages to john.doe@xyz.org or do they bounce?
